Police Arrest 11 People In Manchester Following Drugs Raid
Eleven people have been arrested in connection with suspected drug dealing following police raids across Greater Manchester targeting people suspected of being involved in a £300 million pound drugs conspiracy.
Police executed warrants at a number of addresses in Altrincham, Prestwich, Salford and Bolton in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Eight of the men were arrested on suspicion of drugs trafficking offences and three women were arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs.
A quantity of cash and drugs were also seized.
Two Men Killed In Belfast Road Collision
Two men have been killed in a road accident in south Belfast on the Milltown Road.
A motorbike and a car were involved in the collision, which occurred near the Belvoir estate.
A motorcyclist and the driver of a car died after in the accident. The road has been closed.
The news follows the death of a 51-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Magherafelt, County L'Derry, on Tuesday morning.
On Monday, 49-year-old Mark McClements died in a collision in Carrickfergus in County Antrim.
An 18-year-old man, David McNulty, was killed in a one-vehicle crash in County Fermanagh on Saturday.
Kier Appoints New Chief Executive
Kier has appointed a new Chief Executive.
Haydn Mursell began his post on Wednesday, 1st July.
With over two decades of industry experience and having worked at Kier over the last four years as Group finance director, Haydn brings a wealth of market knowledge combined with a strong understanding of the Group, to the role of chief executive. Prior to joining Kier, Haydn held senior roles at Balfour Beatty and Bovis Lend Lease. He replaces incumbent chief executive Paul Sheffield who, in February of this year, announced he was leaving the post.
He said: "Having had the opportunity to work at Kier over the last four years it is a privilege to be taking on the role of chief executive. The business has some of the most experienced and skilled teams in the industry and a diverse portfolio of clients spanning the construction, services and property sectors, so it is incredibly well placed to make the most of recovering markets."

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Brixton Drug Gang Get Long Sentences
A gang of criminals who ran a lucrative drug dealing network from a car tyre shop in Brixton were sentenced last week to a total of 81 years in prison. Nine men, who were previously convicted of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, appeared at Kingston Crown Court today to hear their sentences.

A 47-year-old man has been convicted of fraud in relation to the making and selling of fake bomb detectors. Gary Bolton, of Redshank Road in Chatham, Kent, made "nothing more than boxes with handles and antennae", which were then sold for £10,000 each, the Old Bailey heard.
