Passengers Evacuated From Stopped Eurotunnel Train
Passengers on a Eurotunnel train were evacuated from the Channel Tunnel after a power fault caused a train to stop around a quarter of the way into the journey to France.
It is understood that a fault with overhead power lines resulted in the driver bringing the train to a stop in the tunnel. Passengers were then taken from the train and escorted out of the tunnel via the central service train.
Eurotunnel say that the stopped train is being moved and they expect the fault to be fixed by the end of the day, but that the incident would cause delays and queues for the rest of the day.

News of the attempted breakout was reported when staff at the school received an email asking them to be vigilant after a stash of cutlery was found near a hole at the bottom of the fence.
It is understood that the hole has been filled and the fence reinforced.
