McIlroy Wins 2014 Open Championship
Professional golfer Rory McIlroy has won The Open competition.
The Northern Irish golfer also scooped £950,000 in prize money.
First Minister Rt Hon Peter D. Robinson MLA and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MLA congratulated Rory on his success.
They said: "We congratulate Rory on becoming the 2014 Open Champion. He has delivered a golfing masterclass over the last four days at Royal Liverpool.
"Having won three Majors, Rory now joins golfing greats Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to win three majors by the age of 25. Rory is an exceptionally talented golfer and with his strong work ethic, he will undoubtedly go on to achieve many more great wins in his career."

Seventy prisoners abscond from open jail
At least seventy criminals, including three murderers, have absconded from an open prison this year, the Home Office has revealed. Twenty-nine prisoners who fled from Ford Open Prison in Arundel, West Sussex, are still on the run, including a murderer who is serving a life sentence.

Convicted rapist wins £7m lotto jackpot
A sex offender who was jailed for life in 1989 for an attempted rape has won £7 million on the National Lottery, it has been reported today. Fifty-two-year-old Iorworth Hoare, who is nearing the end of his sentence, bought one of Saturday's three winning tickets while staying at a bail hostel in Middlesborough.

Two Men Escape From Spring Hill Open Prison
A convicted murderer and another dangerous man have absconded from an open prison in Buckinghamshire. Darren Douglas, 46, from Birmingham, is serving a life sentence for stabbing a man to death outside a pub in 1998. Ricardo Dunn, 32, from Burnley, is serving an indeterminate sentence for attacking a man in the street in 2009.
