Former Radio 1 DJ Admits 29 Charges Of Abuse

Chris Denning, a former Radio 1 DJ, has admitted 29 charges of abuse committed against boys aged between 9 and 16.

According to a report by the BBC, Denning pleaded guilty to the 29 charges at Southwark Crown Court, but denied 12 other charges.

His trial is set to begin on 24 November.

Charges were brought against Denning as part of Operation Yewtree, a police investigation established in the wake of the Jimmy Savile abuse scandal.

A Plymouth man has been jailed for a further 17 years over historic child abuse charges, following a trial at Plymouth Crown Court. Hinton Sheryn was found guilty of 18 counts of indecent assault and gross indecency with children dating back to the 1970s and 80s, and sentenced to 17 years in jail.
