National Summer Games 2017 Announced For Sheffield
The National Summer Games for athletes with learning disabilities is to be held in Sheffield in 2017.
Sheffield City Council have said that the games' venues will include the Ponds Forge Centre, Sheffield Hallam University athletics stadium and the English Institute of Sport.
Some 2,000 competitors are expected to participate in the Games, which will be from 07 to 11 August 2017.
The National Summer Games event is held every four years, with the 2013 event having been staged in Bath.

Callers To Be Refunded For Commonwealth Games Ticketing Problems
People charged for phone calls made to try and secure Commonwealth Games tickets, but only got an engaged tone, are to be given refunds. It was discovered that callers where charged despite not being able to get through, a mistake that organisers of the Games, Glasgow 2014, have apologised for.

Organisers of the Sheffield Doc/Fest have revealed that the 2009 festival will open on November 4 with the world premiere of Moving To Mars: A Million Miles From Burma, a feature-length documentary by UK director Mat Whitecross (The Road to Guantanamo) produced by Karen Katz for London-based Coded Pictures.

Appeal For Blood Donations Ahead Of Olympics
Ahead of the Olympic Games in July the health service have are making an appeal for extra blood donations As part of a contingency plan to cope with extra visitors coming to the UK NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) have said stocks need to be 30% higher than normal by the start of the Games.
