Homes Evacuated Over WWII Bomb Discovery
A number of homes in Guiseley, near Leeds, have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspected unexploded World War Two bomb.
It is understood that the device was found by Leeds City Council workers at about 09:45 on Monday in the garden of a property in Hawkhill Avenue.
Army bomb disposal experts are attending the scene.
Petition Calls For Resignation Of Israeli Flag Councillor
A petition calling for the resignation of a Glasgow Councillor who waved the Israeli flag has received more than 2,000 signatures.
David Meikle, a Conservative Councillor, flew the flag on Friday as the Palestinian flag was raised over Glasgow city chambers on the same day.
The Councillor had tweeted a picture of himself with the flag but his account has since been deleted.
140 Kayakers Helped To Safety
Some 140 kayakers had to be helped to safety after strong winds and choppy seas forced them abandon a 15-mile trip.
Seventy double kayaks set off from Victoria Dock in Caernarfon despite the poor weather. They had planned on travelling to Llanfairfechan but stopped short due to worsening weather.
Holyhead coastguard helped the kayakers to safety at Bangor pier.

Three Kayakers Found Dead Named
Three kayakers found dead in the River Tyne in Northumberland after they went missing were two brothers and their cousin. Police were alerted after brothers Darren Thorpe, 41, Mark Thorpe, 39, and their cousin Gavin Bradley, 36, all from South Shields, were reported missing at 11.00pm last Sunday when they failed to return home.

Mayor Questioned Over Alleged Corruption
An elected mayor has been arrested in connection with a police inquiry into alleged corruption, it has emerged. Mark Meredith, 42, Stoke-on-Trent - who was elected in May 2005 - was detained by police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and complicity in corruption while in public office.
