Head Teacher Unions Join Forces For Alternative League Tables
Head teachers unions have come together in support of a new league table system, which they say will "offer more information to parents".
Saying that the current system does not "tell the full story", the Association of School and College Leaders, the National Association of Head Teachers and the United Learning group have come together to support a new, free, website – schoolperformancetables.org.uk – which will allow schools to upload their own, full GCSE performance results.
The website states: "This website has been set up to enable schools to publish their full GCSE performance results in unadulterated form so that parents can judge for themselves how local schools have performed. Schools will be able to upload their data from results day in August and the tables will be published in the autumn. Data can be uploaded from SIMS. There will be no cost either for schools or for parents to access the data all of which will be available publicly."
It is understood that the alternative league tables would be published earlier the official results.
