Fish Poaching Crackdown Launched
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have launched a crackdown on fish poaching.
Four poaching "hot spots" across Wales will be targeted including the Loughor Estuary and River Usk in the south, and the Menai Strait and River Dee in the north.
NRW said that its biggest concern was the practice of "foul hooking", which involved dragging hooks throught the water at speed to impale fish.
RNLI Rescues Five Teens
The RNLI has recused five teenagers from rocks in the Vale of Glamorgan.
It is understood that the three 17-year-old boys and two 15-year-old girls were cut off by the tide at Jackson's Bay, Barry at about 21:15 on Wednesday.
No one was injured in the incident.
The RNLI advised people to always chose a beach manned by lifeguards and to swim between red and yellow flags.
Up To 25,000 Affected By Power Cut
Up to 25,000 homes are without electricity in the Highlands and Islands, energy firm SSE have said.
Homes and businesses on the Western Isles, Skye and mainland west Highlands have been affected by the power cut.
SSE say that they expect power to be restored by early this evening.

RNLI urges care on bank holiday after busy weekend
Last weekend was the busiest of 2004 with RNLI lifeboats launching 80 times to help adults and children in distress throughout the UK and Ireland. RNLI lifeguards and volunteer lifeboat crews do not want to see a repeat of 2003, when they responded to a record number of incidents.

Campaigners have lodged papers at the Court of Session in Edinburgh which may halt the construction of a new power station in Ayrshire, it has been reported. Action group, Communities Opposed to New Coal at Hunterston (Conch), has appealed for a judicial review of the plans for the coal-fired power station at Hunterston.

Study links power lines to childhood leukaemia
Children who live near power lines are more likely to develop leukaemia, a team of scientists has claimed. Researchers from Oxford University found that children who lived within 200 metres of high voltage power lines had a 70% higher chance of developing leukaemia than those children who lived more than 600 metres away from the power cables.
