Immediate Job Losses As Port Glasgow Shipyard Enters Receivership

Eighty jobs are to be lost following the announcement that the Ferguson shipyard in Port Glasgow has entered receivership.

Staff were informed of the move when they arrived for work on Friday morning, according to a report by the BBC.

The report states that most staff will be made redundant with immediate effect with just a skeleton staff remaining on site while receivers try to find a buyer.

The GMB union has described the sudden jobs loses as a "complete shock".
