Thai Police Say No DNA Matches To Tourist Murder Suspects
Thai police investigating the murders of two British tourists have revealed that no DNA collected at the crime scene has matched any of their suspects.
David Miller (24) and Hannah Witheridge (23) were found dead on Monday on the island of Koh Tao.
Thai police have interviewed a number of potential suspects, but have now said that the evidence doesn't match.
Two other British tourists, brothers Christopher and James Ware, were held at Bangkok airport as they prepared to leave, but police have now said that there is no evidence against them.
It had been suggested that there was "strong evidence" against a number Burmese suspects, but Thai police have now also said that the DNA found at the crime does not match. It is understood that up to 11 Burmese people have been questioned as part of the investigation.
A report by the BBC, from their south-east Asia correspondent Jonathan Head, has suggested that Thai police have all but admitted that they "really don't know where to look now".
