British Student Confirmed Among MH17 Victims
The family of a student from Bristol have confirmed that he was among the victims of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down over northern Ukraine in July.
Ben Pocock (20) from Keynsham, a student at Loughborough University, was travelling to Australia when the Boeing 777 was brought down near Shakhtarsk in July, killing all 298 people on board.
Mr Pocock's family thanked the public for the messages of support and tribute.

The Liberal Democrats have promised to remove the fear of debt from university students by scrapping tuition and top-up fees and increase grants for poorer students. The party announced that a Liberal Democrat government would provide grants of up to £2,000 per year to poorer students.

The parents of student Anuj Bidve, who was shot dead on Boxing day, have visited the scene of his murder today. He was shot in the head as he walked with friends along Ordsall Lane in Salford. His parents, who travelled from India, visited the scene this morning where tributes and flowers have been left.
