Body Found During Missing Man Search, Yorkshire
A body has been found by West Yorkshire Police during searches for missing Denby Dale man William Dunk.
At about 23:50 last night, British Transport police contacted local officers after a man's body was seen in an area just north of Denby Dale station.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and Mr Dunk's family have been informed, although no formal identification has taken place.
74-year-old William Dunk was last seen leaving his house at 10.30 on the morning of 28 October.
He is described as a white male, 5ft 3" tall, medium build and speaks with a Scottish accent.
West Midlands Police Appeal Over Coventry Hit-And-Run
West Midlands Police investigating a Coventry hit-and-run that left a child in hospital have appealed for information to assist their hunt for a silver car believed to have been involved.
Officers were called to Cheveral Avenue in Radford on Monday 20 October around 19:10 following reports of an 11-year-old in collision with a car.
The car hit the child and then drove away from the scene. The boy was taken to hospital with multiple injuries but was released a few days later and is recovering at home.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is urged to call the Traffic department based at Chelmsley Wood on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111.
Five Arrested Over operation Kervella
Five people from across the north of England have been arrested as part of Operation Kervella, an investigation into a multi-million pounds drugs conspiracy involving the transport of illegal drugs throughout the UK.
Search warrants were executed in Workington in Cumbria, Berwick Hills in Middlesbrough, Teesside, and Bangor, Anglesey and Pentraeth in North Wales.
One man was arrested in Cumbria, one in Teesside and two in North Wales, while a fifth was arrested at a prison in Cumbria.
The latest arrests follow nine made on Thursday 16 October 2014 and three made on Wednesday the 22 October as part of the same investigation.
Bury Mayor's Chains Stolen
The Mayor of Bury’s ceremonial chains have been stolen during a "violent robbery" in Radcliffe.
At about 22:15 on 30 October, the Mayor’s driver was placing a briefcase containing the Mayor and Mayoress’ ceremonial gold chains into the boot of a car in the Stand Lane area of Radcliffe.
A man in a balaclava approached him from behind and struck him on the shoulder with a hammer, before grabbing the briefcase from the boot.
The victim suffered muscle damage in his shoulder and was treated at the scene.
The attacker then got into the passenger seat of a green-coloured VW Polo, which was waiting nearby, and drove off.
Greater Manchester Police has asked anyone with information to call officers on 101 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 55 111.

Man Arrested Over Melanie Hall Murder
Police investigating the murder of Melanie Hall have arrested a 39-year-old man. Melanie, 25, from Wiltshire, disappeared in 1996 after a night out at Cadillac's nightclub in Bath. Her remains were found on a slip road near Junction 14 of the M5 in South Gloucestershire last October.

Second man arrested over hit-and-run death
A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Edinburgh schoolboy in a hit-and-run incident last October. Jack Anderson, 10, died after being hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Saughton Road North in the city on October 5 last year.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

'House Of Evil' To Be Demolished
A cottage in mid-Wales believed to be the site where five-year-old April Jones was murdered is to be demolished. Dubbed the "house of evil" the cottage in Ceinws, Powys is believed to have been where Mark Bridger killed and dismembered the child on 1st October 2012. Bridger was jailed for life in May 2013. The child's body has never been recovered.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.
