British Banker Remanded In Custody Over Hong Kong Murders

A British banker has appeared in court today after he was accused of killing two prostitutes in his flat in Hong Kong.

29-year-old Rurik Jutting confirmed he understood the murder charges against him at a short hearing at Eastern Magistrates' Court this morning.

Jutting has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on 10th November. An application for bail was not submitted.

Jutting was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning and police discovered two dead women, believed to be Asian sex workers, at his luxury apartment.

One of the victims was reportedly decapitated and found inside a suitcase. Her body is believed to have been in a state of decomposition for up to five days.

The other victim has multiple stab wounds and was found lying on the floor in the apartment.

Police arrived at the apartment after receiving a telephone call from a suspect.

A small amount of cocaine was also found at the property.
