Thames Valley Police have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of financing overseas terrorist acts.

Officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU) made the arrest in Slough, in relation to conflicts abroad and stressed that it was not done in response to any immediate threat to public safety.

A police spokesperson said: "We will continue to work with our partners and community in the interests of public safety and I would ask that we all continue to discourage anyone from attempting to travel to Syria or other areas of conflict."
