AK-47 Magistrate Removed From Post
A magistrate who posted a picture of himself posing with an AK-47 rifle on Twitter has been dismissed from his role.
Ajit Atwal posed for the photo while on holiday in India in 2013. He was suspended from his role as a magistrate in April after the picture appeared in a national newspaper in March. Mr Atwal issued an apology at the time but refused to resign.
The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office has now ruled that Mr Atwal's behaviour "amounted to serious misconduct".
