'Cautious Optimism' Over Improved A&E Waiting Times
NHS bosses in England have suggested "cautious optimism" following an improvement in weekly A&E waiting times.
In seven days to Sunday 92.9% of patients were seen in four hours, up from 92.3% the week before.
The figure is still below the target of 95%, which was last hit in September 2014.
It is understood the increase was recorded despite an increase in attendance at A&E, up from 401,000 to 407,400.
Commenting on the results, NHS England, said: "A&E performance moved in the right direction week-on-week giving cause for cautious optimism, with more than nine out of 10 patients being admitted, treated and discharged within four hours.
"This has been achieved in the face of increased pressure on A&E with both the number of attendances and emergency admissions having gone up this week.
"The cold can contribute to heightened levels of respiratory illness - particularly among the elderly and those with long terms conditions.
"The message is to stay warm, stock up with your usual medicines and make full use of your local pharmacist."

UK Economy Growth Forecast

A&E waiting times in England are now at their highest level for a decade, a new report suggests, a report suggests. Average waiting time rose by a fifth in 2012 with the King’s Fund reviewing finding that from October to December 2012 more than 232,000 patients waited more than four hours.

UK Unemployment Drops In Three Months To February
Unemployment in the UK has fallen by 76,000 in the three months to February, down 1.3% on the same period in 2014, new figures from the Office for National Statistics(ONS) have revealed. UK unemployment now stands at 1.84 million, or 5.6%, which the ONS said is in line with forecasts.

The discount chain, which currently has 458 stores across the UK, recorded total sales of £880m for the year to March, with the store now considering expansion.
