Security Staff At Welsh Hospital To Wear Body-Cams
Security staff at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff have become the first in the UK to wear body-mounted cameras.
The board at Cardiff and Vale University said the cameras have been issued in a bid to reduce the number of violent attacks on staff.
The board claims that a quarter of all attacks and incidents in Wales happen to staff on its sites.
David James, security team leader at the hospital, said: "If someone is being abusive or violent, we notify them about the camera and once they know it's filming them, they back down.
"It's an excellent deterrent to protect our staff."
