Council Includes Banksy In listed Status Of Building

Cheltenham Borough Council has granted retrospective planning permission to a Bansky mural.

'Spy Booth', which features three figures "snooping" on a telephone box, appeared in Hewlett Road, Cheltenham, in April last year.

The mural was painted on a Grade II listed property without listed building consent. This meant the painting could not be included within the listed status.

The council voted 12 votes to one, to extend the listed status to the mural.

Convicted Mafia Boss Can Be Extradited

A 65-year-old Mafia boss convicted in Italy 1999 and found living in London has lost an appeal against his extradition.

Domenico Rancadore moved to London following a trial, at which he was acquitted, in 1993. However at a second trial in 1999 he was found guilty in his absence and a European arrest warrant was issued.

He was found to be living in London under the assumed name, Marc Skinner.

Westminster Magistrates' Court today ruled that he must be extradited to Italy, following an 18 month appeal.

However, he can now appeal the extradition to the High Court.
