Nine Britons Detained In Turkey
Nine British nationals have reportedly been detained in Turkey, after they were alleged to have tried to enter Syria illegally.
According to reports, the group – consisting of three men, two women and four children – have been held at Reyhanli, Hatay province, near the Syrian border. Their intention for travelling to the region was not immediately clear.
The Foreign Office has said it is in contact with the Turkish authorities.

21-Year-Old Arrested At Stansted On Terrorism Offences
Police have arrested a man at Stansted airport on suspicion of terrorism offences. The 21-year-old was detained by Counter Terrorism Command officers as he returned to the UK from Istanbul, Turkey, via Stuttgart, Germany. He is suspected of involvement in the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorism, Scotland Yard have said.

Production restarts at Suffolk turkey farm
The Suffolk turkey farm at the centre of a bird flu outbreak is re-opening for business and resuming the slaughter and processing of poultry. The government gave the Bernard Matthews farm in Upper Holton the go-ahead to restart operations and, according to reports, turkeys have already begun to arrive at the plant.

A search for a man reportedly swept from a sea wall near Torquay on Thursday night has been called off. Police received a report at about 21:30 on Thursday that a man had disappeared from view as waves crashed over the wall at Meadfoot Beach.

A British man has died and nine others have been injured in a hot-air balloon crash in central Turkey. According to reports from the Anatolia news agency, the balloon dropped 200 metres shortly after leaving Nevsehir province for a tour of the Cappadocia region.

Terror suspect takes overdose
One of the recently released terror suspects has been treated in hospital after he took a drugs overdose. The High Court was told today that Abu Rideh, who was freed from Broadmoor earlier this month, following the introduction of the new Prevention of Terrorism Act, had been admitted to a London hospital at the weekend. He has since been released.
