Police Appeal To Caravan Park Wrestlers In Historical Abuse Investigation
Northumbria Police have appealed for information on a group of professional wrestlers who worked at a Northumberland caravan park in 1994.
Police are investigating an allegation of historical sexual assault of a child while at the Sandy Bay Caravan Park.
It is believed that a group of wrestlers who provided entertainment at the park may hold key information in the case.
Detective Sergeant, Mick Rose, said: "This is an important line of investigation. If you or a family member were part of the wrestling community or were contracted to venues in the Northumberland area, you may be able to help officers.
"The wider public may also have information about the identity of the wrestlers. I would urge anyone who visited Sandy Bay Caravan Park during the 90's and watched a wrestling event to come forward. Photographs or videos of the event would be valuable to enquiries.
"We are determined to do all we can to fully investigate this incident and officers are continuing to provide specialist support to the victim as the investigation is ongoing."
