Four Arrested In Rochdale Child Abuse Investigation
Four men have been arrested as part of an investigation into child sexual exploitation in Rochdale.
The arrests were made by officers of Operation Doublet, led by Greater Manchester Police (GMP), and relate to alleged offences committed against one victim, who was under 16 at the time of the abuse.
Hadi Jamel, 33, of Yorkshire Street, Rochdale has been charged with one count of Sexual Activity with a Child; Abid Khan, 38, of Whitney Road, Liverpool has been charged with three counts of Sexual Activity with a Child; Mohammed Zahid, 54, of Croxton Avenue, Rochdale has been charged with one count of Sexual Activity with a Child; and Raja Abid Khan, 38, of Palatine Street, Rochdale has been charged with one count of Sexual Activity with a Child.
They are all due to appear at Bury and Rochdale magistrates’ court on Tuesday 28 April 2015, GMP said.

21-Year-Old Charged With Grooming Offences
A 21-year-old man has been charged with grooming offences following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police's Sunrise Team in Rochdale. Ryan Howley, of Top O'The Close Road, Walsden, Todmorden, is charged with two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and one count of inciting a child to commit sexual activity.

New figures have suggested escalating child obesity in the UK is beginning to level off, however, rates are still too high, according to the government. The National Child Measurement Programme suggested families are benefiting from knowing the facts about their child's weight.

NSPCC Calls Rise After Death Of Baby P
More people are calling the NSPCC Helpline about serious child abuse since the death of Baby Peter two years ago. Between April 2008 and March 2009, the 24-hour freephone service passed on 11,243 suspected child protection cases to police or social services - an increase of more than a third over two years.
