Seven Arrested In Dawn Raids Across Merseyside
Merseyside Police have carried out a number of raids across the Liverpool as part of an operation targeting serious and organised crime.
Officers carried out raids at 14 addresses in Old Swan, Kensington, Newton-le-Willows, Belle Vale and Speke arresting seven men.
Detective Supt Chris Green, from the Matrix Serious Organised Crime team, said: "The action taken by officers this morning is part of the second phase of an operation targeting those involved in serious and organised crime within our communities.
"We are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in serious and organised crime and we are committed to making our streets safer for our communities.
"No-one should have to put up with drug dealing, and the associated crime it brings, in their communities. We will work together with our communities to improve the quality of life in our neighbourhoods and make our communities stronger.
Police are continuing to search the properties.

Soca Website Shuts Down After Cyber Attacks
The Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) website has been taken down temporarily after a cyber attack by hackers. Soca confirmed that its site, www.soca.gov.uk, suffered a distributed denial service (DDoS) attack. A spokesperson confirmed it was taken offline on Wednesday night, however the attack did not pose a security risk to the organisation.

Israeli ambassadors have met with Foreign Office ministers in Britain and Ireland after it was revealed alleged Israeli assassins duped authorities with fake UK and Irish passports. The 11 people are believed to have executed Palestinian militant Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in January, having obtained forged European travel documents.
