Parking Meters Vandalised In Sussex
Five parking meters have been vandalised in Sussex.
The machines were damaged in Lewes on 24 May.
Two were attacked with a firework and paint in the Phoenix Causeway car park.
Fireworks were also used to damage three machines in Friars Walk, Garden Street and Southover Road.
Police said a man was seen running towards the town centre after an explosion was heard in Friars Walk at approximately 10pm.
Two firework explosions were also heard in the Southover area between 8pm and 10pm.
The damage caused to the devices is estimated at £4500.
Police are appealing for witnesses.

Firefighters To Strike Tonight
Fresh industrial action has been announced by firefighters in England and Wales in an ongoing dispute over pension age. Fire Brigade Union members will stage a walk out between 18:30 and 23:00 tonight and again on Monday. Firefighters last took strike action in October, stage two walks.

Engineers Work To Repair Damaged Overhead Lines At Hitchin
Engineers have been at Hitchin on the East Coast main line since yesterday afternoon working to repair damaged overhead lines. Problems with the wires on three tracks were discovered soon after 2.30pm on Monday and they were repaired overnight.

65-Year-Old Bailed On Asda Carpark Manslaughter Charge
A man arrested in connection with the death of 64-year-old man in an Asda car park has been bailed. It is understood that the victim died in hospital on Sunday after sustaining head injuries when he was pushed to the ground during an argument in the supermarkets disabled parking area.

Rise In Hospital Parking Fees Criticised
New figures published have shown than more than a quarter of hospital trusts in England increased car parking charges for patients and visitors in the year to last April. While some cut prices, others more than doubled them, according to data from 197 hospitals and mental health trusts.

Hospital Parking Fees Here To Stay
The coalition government has announced that car parking charges for hospitals based in England are set to stay. The previous Labour administration had pushed to scrap parking fees for in-patients and regular out-patients, however the coalition agreed that there were better uses of public money than abolishing the charges.
