UK Population Grows By Almost Half A Million - ONS
New figures from the Office for National Statistics(ONS) have revealed that the population of the UK grew to a total of 64,596,800, up by almost half a million.
The ONS said the population rose by 491,100 from mid-2013 to mid-2014, a growth it described as "above average".
Net migration of 259,700 added to the population growth, the ONS said.
Net migration grew more than 'natural growth' – births minus deaths – which stood at 226,200.

UK population tops 60 million
The population of the UK has increased to more than 60 million for the first time, the latest figures from the Office of National Statistics has shown. The figures showed an increase of 0.6% or 375,000 to 60.2 million by June last year.

The UK’s population is growing by 1,000 a day, according to new figures released by the Office for National Statistics. Record levels of immigration and a higher birth rate have seen the number living in England and Wales grow by twice the European average.

ONS Figures Reveal Rise In Net Migration
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed that net migration to the UK has risen to 212,000 as of September 2013. The ONS report showed a net flow increase of 154,000 in the year to September. Net flow is measured by subtracting the number of people leaving the UK from the number of people arriving.

Net Migration Falls By A Third
UK net migration fell by a third in year to June 2012 new immigration figures have shown. 163,000 more people came to live in the UK for 12 months or more than left, compared with 247,000 the year before, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics. The ONS say the drop is driven by immigration.

ONS Figures Show Growth In UK Economy
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have shown that the UK economy grew by 1.9% in 2013, despite gross domestic product falling by 0.1%, finishing the final quarter at 0.7%. Chancellor George Osborne has said that the numbers are a boost to economic security and further evidence that the governments economic plan is working.
