Possible Artillery Shells Prompts Evacuation
An evacuation has taken place after two possible artillery mortar shells were found in a garden in Stratford-upon-Avon.
A member the public reported the discovery at approximately 8.35am today 1 July.
The Banbury Road between Trinity Way and Dale Avenue, along with parts of Saturn Way and Mercury Drive were evacuated.
Bomb disposal experts from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) carried out a controlled explosion.
The roads reopened at 12.25pm.

Two Suspicious Packages Discovered In Exeter
Two suspicious packages have been discovered in Exeter today, 29 June. The first package was found in York Road, near Sidwell Street close to St Sidwell's School at 6:55am. Later a second package was found at the King William Street Car park at approximately 9:15am.

UK To Aid Libyan Civilians
The UK International Development Secretary has pledged new funding to aid evacuation in war-torn Libya. Speaking to the BBC, Andrew Mitchell said the money would help migrant workers trapped in the city of Misrata. As the unrest in Libya continues, residents and aid workers have reported a major lack of food, power, water and medicine.

Bus blaze kills elderly passengers fleeing 'Rita'
As the mass evacuation from the encroaching hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico continued, a bus fire was reported to have killed at least 24 elderly people fleeing the area on Friday. The bus was destroyed in the blaze which caused a massive tailback on already congested main Interstate route just south of Dallas.

UK troops sent in to 'volatile' Ivory Coast
With the situation in the Ivory Coast deteriorating rapidly, British troops have been sent into the West African country to begin the evacuation of UK citizens trapped there. The detachment, led by the Royal Gurkha Rifles, has been ordered in to carry out a full-scale evacuation of the 400 British citizens in the region.

Fire Causes Wimbledon Central Court Evacuation
The Centre Court of Wimbledon was evacuated yesterday due to the discovery of a small fire, organisers have said. The incident happened an hour after play had ended. The blaze was discovered shortly before 9pm in an electrical plant room to the side of the Winfield restaurant on 1 July.
