Monorail Breaks Down At Alton Towers
A total of 80 people were left stuck for an hour after two monorail trains broke down at Alton Towers on Wednesday.
The incident happened at around 5.25pm.
Also on Wednesday, the theme park's Air rollercoaster was also temporarily stopped on Wednesday afternoon, with some people stranded upside down on the ride for 20 minutes.
"The train drivers kept guests informed via the on board PA system and refreshments were provided."
They added that those stuck on the Air ride were cleared "within standard operating procedures".
No-one was injured in the incident.
The monorail is expected to re-open today.

Two arrested over double shooting
Police investigating a double shooting in north London on Wednesday night have arrested two men. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, while a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The two shooting incidents took place within half an hour of each other on Wednesday night.

Ladbrooke Grove train crash case to go ahead
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has begun its prosecution of Thames Trains Limited for alleged breaches of health and safety law in connection with the Ladbroke Grove rail collision. HSE made public its intention to prosecute both Thames Trains Limited and Railtrack PLC (now Network Rail) in March 2002.
