OSCB Publication Outlines Progress Tackling CSE
The Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (OSCB) has today 23 July published its report outlining progress made by agencies tackling Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).
The 'stocktake' shows the progress agencies have made since 2011.
The report outlined five areas in particular that require work.
This included a more 'robust' licensing of taxi drivers in Oxfordshire.
The report stated as many as 373 children may have been targeted for sex in the county in the past 16 years.
The £1.1 million Kingfisher unit has been set up by Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire County Council to tackle CSE.
Maggie Byth, Independent Chair of the OSCB, said: "The partnership in Oxfordshire has moved a long way together to address the problem of CSE, identify collective solutions and produce some tangible evidence of impact."
