IWF To Share 'Hash List' Of Indecent Images
The UK's anti-abuse organisation, Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), will share it's 'hash list' of indecent images, in an effort to help websites stop them being uploaded.
The IWF monitors and catalogues images of abuse it finds online, giving each one a unique code, known as a "hash" or its digital finger-print.
With the list of hash codes the organisations can find a single image anywhere online and remove it.
IWF CEO Susie Hargreaves said: "The IWF Hash List could be a game-changer and really steps up the fight against child sexual abuse images online.
"This is something we have worked on with our Members since the Prime Ministers' #WePROTECT summit last December. We'll soon be able to offer the hash list to all IWF Members, who are based around the world.
"It means victims' images can be identified and removed more quickly, and we can prevent known child sexual abuse images from being uploaded to the internet in the first place."

Subliminal advertising 'affects brain'
Invisible subliminal images do attract the brain's attention on a subconscious level, researchers at University College London have claimed. Using brain scans, researchers looked at whether an image you aren't aware of - but one that reaches the retina - has an impact on brain activity in the primary visual cortex, part of the occipital lobe.
