Over 200 Teenagers Attend East London Fight
Over 200 teenagers were present at a fight outside a tube station in east London, police have said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Walthamstow.
Officers received reports shortly after 5pm of a large group teenagers causing a disturbance between Hoe Street and Station Approach.
A 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion of affray.
An 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
The group was eventually dispersed by around 8:45pm.
It is understood videos posted on social media appear to show several girls fighting.
Waltham Forest Chief Inspector Jon Simpson said the force were increasing patrols to reassure local residents and businesses.
"We are working closely with our colleagues at Waltham Forest Council and local schools to identify those responsible for any criminal acts," he said.
"The vast number of children who congregated in the area yesterday were merely there to watch and film on their phones rather than to participate in any criminal activities"
Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
