Newport Steel Plant Reopens After Two-And-A-Half Years
Liberty Steel plant in Newport has reopened, two-and-a-half years after it was mothballed.
It is understood that production will resume at the plant with the 150 steel workers, laid off in 2013, returning to work.
The plant, which was closed while its owners waited for the sector to improve, will produce steel coils used in roads and bridges.
It is believed that Liberty also hope to re-open another part of the plant where scrap is melted down for reuse.
