Peter Donaldson Dies Aged 70

BBC Radio 4 broadcaster Peter Donaldson has died at the age of 70.

The news was announced during Radio 4 news this morning, 03 November.

Radio 4 presenter John Humphrys tweeted: "He was quite simply the voice of Radio 4 for a generation."

BBC News at Ten presenter Huw Edwards tweeted: "Peter Donaldson. Wonderful friend and generous colleague. We will miss him."

Mr Donaldson became the chief announcer for Radio 4 in 1988.

He retired on 31 December 2012.

Asian Radio Presenter Murdered
Police in Glasgow are investigation the "brutal" killing of a radio presenter at her home. Nasim Jamil, who worked for Asian radio station Awaz FM, was found by family in her Byres Road flat on Wednesday. Strathclyde Police said she had last been seen earlier in the day. A postmortem examination is currently underway on Ms Jamil's remains.

Veteran radio presenter John Peel dies
The veteran radio presenter John Peel has died while on holiday in Peru, it has emerged today. The 65-year-old father of four, who was the corporation's longest-serving radio broadcaster, suffered a heart attack at the holiday resort of Cuzco last night. His wife Sheila was at the resort with him.

Virgin Radio is set to become the first radio station to become globally available via 3G phones. The UK radio broadcaster has teamed up with Sydus, specialists in music to mobile streaming, in order to make the radio station available through mobile phones.
