Police Issue Appeal To Trace Missing Man

Police are appealing for information in helping to trace a missing man in Wales.

Brian Roberts, 62, from the Rhyl area, was last seen in Parc Esmor on the morning of Thursday, 29 October.

He usually frequently visits the Post Office on Churton Road. However, he has not attended since 28 October.

Mr Roberts is known to have links to the Prestatyn and Anglesey areas.

Police are appealing for anybody with information of his whereabouts to come forward.

Giant Ruby Ball Removed From Cardiff Castle

A giant rugby ball which 'crashed' into Cardiff Castle has been removed.

The 'Ball in the Wall' appeared in the castle wall on the eve of the Rugby World Cup.

The structure was put in place as the city hosted eight games during the length of the tournament.

It was taken down in the early hours of this morning, 03 November.

New Zealand beat Australia during the tournament's final at Twickenham on 31 October.

Colin Welland Dies At 81

Writer and actor Colin Welland has passed away at the age of 81, it has been announced.

He had been suffering Alzheimer's disease for several years.

Welland won an Oscar for best original screenplay for Chariots of Fire in 1982, famously using his acceptance speech to announce, "The British are coming."

He also appeared in the TV show Z cars and won the Bafta film award for best supporting actor in Kes.

In a statement released via his literary agent, Welland's family said: "Colin will be desperately missed by his family and friends.

"Alzheimer's is a cruel illness and there have been difficult times but in the end Colin died peacefully in his sleep.

"We are proud of Colin's many achievements during his life but most of all he will be missed as a loving and generous friend, husband, father and granddad."

A new appeal for information has been issued on the fifth anniversary of the murder of Colin Hughes. Mr Hughes died as the result of injuries when he was stabbed at his home in Baden Road, Old Swan, on the morning of 21 September, 2010.

Mars Mission Scientist Colin Pillinger Dies
Planetary scientist Professor Colin Pillinger, who was the head leader of the Britain's Mars lander Beagle 2, has died at Addenbrooke's Hospital aged 70. He suffered a brain haemorrhage and fell into a deep coma at his Cambridge home. In a statement his family said Pillinger's death was "devastating and unbelievable".

Colin Firth - King Of The Golden Globes
British actor Colin Firth was the 'King' of the Golden Globes last night after he won the Best Actor in a Drama award for his role in The King's Speech. The 50-year-old actor won the award for his role as King George VI in the film, but although The King's Speech was nominated in seven categories, it failed to win any other awards.

'Human Remains' Found In Montrose
Human remains are believed to have been found by police at a house in Montrose, Angus. The discovery was made at the property at around 11.55pm on Wednesday, 4 November, as part of an ongoing missing person inquiry.
