Two bailed following deaths of cockle-pickers
Two people who were arrested following the deaths of 19 cockle pickers who drowned in Morecambe Bay last week have been released on police bail today.
The pair voluntarily attended a police station yesterday afternoon. They are due to reappear at a police station on April 12.
Nineteen people – 17 men and two women – drowned in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, after being trapped by rising tides while out picking cockles on Thursday evening.
On Sunday, three men and two women were arrested in Liverpool on suspicion of manslaughter. The five, who were among the 16 survivors of the tragedy, are still being questioned.
Detectives have said that they expect to make further searches and arrests in the coming days.

Man arrested over Morecambe cockle-picking deaths
A man has been arrested by police investigating the deaths of 20 cockle-pickers, who drowned in Morecambe Bay last month. The 33-year-old Chinese man was arrested in Liverpool last night on suspicion of manslaughter. He is being questioned by Lancashire police and is understood to have helped organise the cockle-picking on the day of the deaths.

Morecambe Bay body confirmed as cockle picker
Police have confirmed today that a badly decomposed body discovered on a beach in Morecambe Bay in Lancashire this week is that of another cockle picker drowned in February's tragedy. The body washed up near Bolton-le-Sands bringing the total number of deaths in February's tragedy to 21.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.
