Davies receives support over Alam’s claims
Two former Football Association employees have denied that executive director David Davies ever ‘tried it on’ with them.
Former FA secretary Faria Alam said that the two women had warned her about Mr Davies when she started working at the FA, claiming that they told her he had “a bit of a reputation”.
However, both Kim Fisher and Sarah Ford have denied Ms Alam’s claims.
The 39-year-old former model is suing the FA for constructive dismissal, sexual discrimination, breach of contract and unequal pay. She resigned from her post, following revelations of her affairs with both England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and FA chief executive Mark Palios.
At the hearing, which is taking place at the Central London Employment Tribunal, Ms Alam accused Mr Davies of sexual harassment. He has denied the accusations.
At today’s hearing, Jeffrey Bacon, lawyer for the FA, read from statements from both Ms Fisher and Ms Ford, which refuted Ms Alam’s claims.
Ms Fisher, who worked for the FA for five years, said in her statement that she had “no complaint” with Mr Davies and never felt uncomfortable around him.
Ms Ford also denied telling Ms Alam that Mr Davies had “tried it on” with her and described her relationship with Ms Alam as “more businesslike, rather than social”.
Mr Bacon accused Ms Alam of fabricating the claims in an attempt to make more money from selling her story to the media.
Ms Alam angrily denied the allegations, saying that it had “nothing to do with the money”. She said: “The FA is completely male-dominated. I’m just a mere woman, so why would my complaints ever be noticed anyway?”
The hearing continues.

Iran set to release captive British sailors today
The eight British sailors being held by Iranian authorities are expected to be released later today. According to Reuters reports, Iran's foreign minister Kamal Kharrazi told the state-run IRNA news agency that the men would be released today.
