Explosion at British office in Iran
A small bomb has exploded outside the offices of two British companies in Tehran.
The blast happened on the tenth floor of an office block in the capital, housing offices of oil company BP and British Airways.
It is understood that there were no injuries in the explosion.
A police spokesperson told reporters that the bomb was hand-made and only broke a few windowpanes.
The blast followed another bomb attack at the same offices in August. The small bomb only caused slight damage and no one was injured in the attack.
Relations between Britain and Iran have been tense recently. Last week Prime Minister Tony Blair criticised Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s comments about Israel after he said that the country should be “wiped off the map”.
Britain has also been critical of Iran’s nuclear programme, fearing that the country plans to create nuclear weapons. However, Iran has insisted that the programme is only intended to develop nuclear energy.
Iran suspended its nuclear programme last November, in order to avoid possible sanctions by the United Nations.

With the clock ticking towards a “decisive” and “non-negotiable” deadline of 31 October, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog agency today called on Iran to provide “full transparency and full disclosure” to corroborate its assertions that it is not seeking to produce nuclear weapons.
