Three remanded on terror offences
Three men arrested under the Terrorism Act last month have been remanded in custody on charges relating to a number of terrorist offences.
Waseem Mughal, 22, from Chatham, Kent and Younis Tsouli, also 22, from Shepherd’s Bush, west London have both been charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause an explosion, among other charges.
They appeared at Bow Street Magistrates' court on Friday and were remanded until November 18.
It is understood that Mr Mughal is accused of having a DVD entitled ‘Martyrdom Operations Vest’ in his bedroom. It is also alleged that he was in possession of a recipe for rocket propellant, guidance on causing an explosion and two pieces of paper – one which said ‘Welcome to Jihad’ in Arabic and another which said ‘Hospital=attack’.
Mr Tsouli is accused of having a video slides film showing how to make a car bomb and images of a number of places in Washington DC.
Both men are also accused of attempting to obtain money by deception and illegal fundraising.
A third man, Tariq al-Daour, from Paddington, west London, was charged with conspiracy to obtain money by deception, fundraising and possession of money for terrorist purposes. He was also remanded in custody.
Scotland Yard said that the investigation was not related to the July 7 bombings.
