Teenager in court over schoolboy murder
A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of 11-year-old schoolboy Joe Geeling.
The case of the 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been sent to the crown court.
Joe, who suffered from cystic fibrosis, disappeared on March 1, shortly after leaving St Gabriel's Roman Catholic High School in Bury, Greater Manchester.
His body was found in Whitehead Park the following day, following a massive search. A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds.
The 14-year-old has been remanded back into local authority secure accommodation.
The case has been sent to Manchester Crown Court and the teenager is due to appear there on April 25.
