Pupils and staff return to school following stabbing death

Pupils and staff have returned to the London school where a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Thursday afternoon.

Kiyan Price was attacked outside the London Academy in Edgeware on Thursday afternoon. The attack happened after Kiyan allegedly became involved in an argument with another boy.

A black teenager, believed to be aged 16, was reportedly seen running from the scene.

Kiyan, who played for Queen's Park Rangers youth team, was found by police outside Stamford Court on Kings Drive around 1535 BST on Thursday afternoon. He was taken to hospital, but died two hours later.

Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of the killing.

Phil Hearne, principal of London Academy, said that the young footballer had been "idolised" by other teenagers at the school. He said: "He was looked up to by youngsters here, terribly well respected, an extremely reliable, hard-working, bright young man. A natural born leader."

QPR chairman Gianni Paladini also paid tribute to Kiyan. He said: "It's a sad day. He was one of our brightest young talents.

"We'll be doing everything we can to help the family through this terrible time and the club will pay their respects in the best possible manner."

Detective Superintendent Simon Morgan appealed for witnesses to come forward. He said: "It was busy at that time and people have so far come forward but we would like to make sure we have spoken to everyone."

The killing comes just days ahead of a Home Office knife amnesty aimed at reducing knife crime in Britain.
