Cameron - 'More to life than money'
Conservative leader David Cameron has said that there is more to life than money and said that the focus should be on "general well-being" rather than "amassing wealth".
In a speech to the Google Zeitgeist Europe 2006 conference in Hertfordshire, Mr Cameron said that people should be provided with jobs that not only provide them with cash, but also improve their quality of life.
The Conservative leader said that there was still too much emphasis on economic growth, budget deficits and gross domestic product.
He said: "It's time we admitted that there's more to life than money, and it's time we focused not just on GDP, but on GWB - general well-being. Well-being can't be measured by money or traded in markets. It can't be required by law or delivered by government. It's about the beauty of our surroundings, the quality of our culture, and above all the strength of our relationships. Improving our society's sense of well-being is, I believe, the central political challenge of our time.
"We should acknowledge a vital truth that the pursuit of wealth is no longer - if it ever was - enough to meet people's deepest hopes and aspirations. It is increasingly clear that the spirit of the age demands social values as well as economic value. If there is one thing that captures zeitgeist today, it's the desire for capitalism with commitment."

Reward Offered In Children's TV Actors Murder Case
A £10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and prosecution of the murderer of children's TV actor, Carl Beatson Asiedu. Mr Asiedu, who had appeared in CBBC's MI High, was stabbed in the heart near Club Life nightclub in Vauxhall, south London, in 2009, when he was 19-years-old.

A man has been charged with attempting to murder two police officers. James Leslie, 37, of Cardigan Road, Leeds, is accused of shooting a female officer earlier this week. Around 4am on Wednesday (4 December), two officers were called to a disturbance in Cardigan Road when they were confronted by a man at a property.
