Mother's appeal over daughter's 'abduction'
The mother of a 12-year-old girl believed to have been abducted by her father from the Western Isles has appealed for her safe return.
Molly Campbell, also known as Misbah Iram Ahmed Rana, is believed to have been collected from her school in Stornoway by her 18-year-old sister Tahmina on Friday.
It is thought that they flew to Glasgow, where they met their father, Sajed Ahmed Rana, and flew to his hometown of Lahore in Pakistan.
An international hunt for Molly is now underway.
Molly's mother, Louise Campbell, appeared at a press conference on Tuesday, appealing for the safe return of her daughter.
Mrs Campbell said she was "absolutely devastated" by last Friday's events and said she was finding it difficult to come to terms with what had happened.
She said: "We would appeal to Molly's father, sister and family to make sure she returns to us as her absence has left a huge gap in our lives".
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Inspector Murdo Fraser from Northern Constabulary said that he would not comment on stories in the press that Molly had been taken for an arranged marriage.
