British tourist shot dead in Jordan
A British tourist has died after a gunman opened fire on a group of tourists in the Jordanian capital Amman.
Five other tourists - including two British women - were also injured in the attack, which happened near the Roman Amphitheatre. The male tourist is understood to have died at the scene. The other injured tourists are believed to be from Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
According to eyewitness reports, the gunman, who was reported to have been arrested after the attack, was said to have approached the group, shouting 'Allah Akbar' (God is great) before opening fire on the group with a handgun.

A British tourist has been welcomed home by his family, who feared he had died in the Asian tsunami disaster. Anthony Blake, 70, from Colchester, Essex, had been on holiday in Thailand when the tsunami struck on Boxing Day. His family had feared that he had been killed in the disaster, when he failed to make contact with them.

Detectives in the U.S have named the 16-year-old arrested in connection with the murders of two British men in Florida. Shawn Tyson has been charged with two counts of murder. James Kouzaris, 24, from Northampton, and James Cooper, 25, of Warwick were on holiday together.
