Terror suspects appear in court
Eight people have appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic airliners.
The men, aged between 19 and 28, are charged with conspiracy to murder and preparing an act of terrorism.
The men - Tanvir Hussain, 25, of no fixed address; Umar Islam, 28, of east London; Arafat Waheed Khan, 25, from Walthamstow, east London; Ahmed Abdullah Ali, 25, also from Walthamstow; Ibrahim Savant, 25, from north London; Waheed Zaman, 22, from Walthamstow; Assad Ali Sarwar, 26, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire; and Adam Khatib, 19, from Walthamstow - appeared at the Old Bailey via a video link from Belmarsh prison.
They were remanded in custody for a further two weeks.
The eight men were among 24 people arrested in connection with the alleged plot. Fourteen people have been charged so far - four people were released without charge, while five other people are still being questioned by police.
A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who was arrested as part of the same investigation has been charged with a separate terrorism charge, not related to the alleged plot.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Donald Stewart Whyte, 21, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and Mohammed Usman Saddique, 24, of Walthamstow, east London, are both accused of preparing acts of terrorism. Mr Stewart Whyte was also charged with three firearms offences.
