Two men arrested over hit-and-run death

Two men have been arrested over the death of a seven-year-old boy, knocked down by a hit-and-run driver, in South Yorkshire.

Kyle McDermott died after he was hit by a white transit van, while riding his bike near his grandparents' home in Maple Road, Mexborough on Monday evening.

The van failed to stop at the scene.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed that two men, aged 25 and 43, had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police said that they believed that the van may have suffered damage to the front of the vehicle in the accident and have urged anyone with any information to contact them on: 0114 220 2970.

Money stolen in Securitas van raid
Police have launched an investigation after a Securitas van was robbed by a gang in Cheshire last night. The robbery happened in the Woolston area of Warrington on Wednesday night around 8:15pm. A Securitas security van, on route to a delivery, had been travelling behind a Volvo flatbed truck.

Police Van Death Probe
An investigation has launched into the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a marked police van. Kenneth Thiel-Furber, 26, of Whitchurch died in the early hours of Saturday. He was hit by a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A41 by the Wrexham Road roundabout. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Men bailed over Merseyside van shooting
Three men arrested in connection with the murder of a man shot dead in his van in Merseyside last year have been released on bail. The men, aged 22, 23 and 32 and all from Bootle, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday. Stephen Lloyd, 25, was shot dead as he sat in his van in Redfern Street in Bootle just after 5pm on July 13 last year.

Police investigating the murder of a man shot dead in his van in Merseyside last year have arrested three men. Stephen Lloyd, 25, was shot dead as he sat in his van in Redfern Street in Bootle just after 5pm on July 13 last year. The van was later found burned out.
