Gales bring risk of coastal flooding
Met Office forecasters are warnings of the possibility of coastal flooding, due to gale force winds coinciding with high tides on Friday evening.
Winds with gusts up to 60mph could lead to large waves over-topping some coasts with possible flooding, especially around western coasts, it has been predicted.
Western coasts of England, Wales, Scotland and the north coast of Northern Ireland are the most at risk area, forecasters warned.
They also warned that a change in wind direction could lead to a further risk of flooding for southern coasts of England on Sunday evening, following a calmer period of weather on Saturday.
David Rooke, Head of Flood Defence at the Environment Agency, said: "We will continue to monitor the situation along the coastline. Flood watches or warnings will be issued where appropriate, to give people as much notice as possible. High tides are expected for this weekend, so anyone out near the coast should be aware of any changes in weather conditions."
People are advised to follow the latest weather forecasts from the Met Office and visit the Environment Agency website for the latest flood information.

Sewer flood warning as heavy rain is forecast
The Consumer Council for Water (CCWater) has urged water companies to prepare for potential sewer flooding as more heavy rain is forecast across England and Wales. The CCWater said that although sewer flooding is rare and the risk heavily localised, it probably represented the worst service failure than can happen to water and sewerage consumers.
