Man pleads guilty to 'terrorist plot'
A man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to murder people in a series of bomb attacks in Britain the the US.
Woolwich Crown Court heard that Dhrien Barot, 34, from north London, planned to carry out explosions a number of targets, including the International Monetary Fund and World Bank buildings in Washington, the Citigroup buildings in New York and the New York Stock Exchange and the Prudential buildings in Newark.
The court also heard that the defendant also planned to use a radioactive 'dirty bomb' in one of a series of attacks in the UK.
Barot had also plotted to blow up three limousines "packed" with gas cylinders and explosives in underground car parks in the UK, as part of a series of synchronised attacks, which was known as the Gas Limos Project.
Barot is due to be sentenced on November 1.

Britons face US terror charges
The US has accused three British men of plotting terror attacks on financial institutions in three major US cities. The three men, Dhiren Barot, Nadeem Tarmohammed and Qaisar Shaffi, are currently in British custody facing charges of plotting to use radioactive material, chemical weapons or explosives to carry out attacks.

Series of bomb attacks hit central Baghdad
US military sources have confirmed that four car bombs in the Iraqi capital Baghdad this morning have killed at least 26 people. The attacks occurred in quick succession and involved the Australian embassy, eastern Iraqi police headquarters, the international airport and an Iraqi military complex.

40 year sentence for terrorist plot
A British man found guilty of planning to kill thousands of people in both the UK and US in a series of terrorist attacks has been jailed for life. Dhiren Barot, 34, from Kingsbury, north-west London, was told that he would have to serve a minimum of 40 years in jail.
