Footballer in court on assault charges
Premiership footballer Anton Ferdinand has appeared in court charged with assault and violent disorder.
The West Ham defender and brother of Manchester United defender Rio was arrested following an incident outside the Faces nightclub in Ilford in east London last month.
Ferdinand, 21, from Mottingham, south-east London, was bailed to reappear at Redbridge magistrates on December 1.
Edward Dawkins, from Beckton, east London, also appeared in court charged with the same offences.
He was also released on bail to reappear in court on December 1.

A convicted child abuser has today been jailed for two years and three months for doing nothing to stop his ex-partner's "horrific" cruelty against her son. Paul Husband, 33, from Newham, east London, was found guilty of neglect in relation to the death of two-month-old Rhys Biggs.

Three More Charged Over 'Hell's Angel' Biker Death
Three more men have been charged over the fatal shooting of Hell's Angel biker on the M40. Gerry Tobin, 35, from south-east London, was shot dead while riding his motorbike on 12 August. Three new suspects were arrested on Wednesday.
