One in ten UK citizens opt to live broad
A report published today has indicated that around 5.5 million British-born people are living overseas.
More than 198,000 British nationals moved overseas last year, bringing the total number of Brits abroad to more than 5.5 million, according to new research from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR).
The report says that a strong economy at home has encouraged emigration and that very few Britons leave because they think 'the country has gone to the dogs'.
The Foreign Office sponsored report shows that almost one in ten Britons now lives abroad and that a British national emigrates every three minutes. The report predicts that another one million Brits will move abroad over the next five years.
The report shows that Britain has more people living abroad than almost any other country.
The top 10 countries where Brits live, together accounting for around 75% of all Brits living abroad, are:

Third And Largest Round Of Cuts Made To Army Personnel
The biggest round of job cuts since the start of the defence review in 2010, will see almost 4,500 Army personnel being redundant. It is part of an ongoing government plan to cut the number of full time military personnel from 102,000 to 82,000, while increasing the number of reservists.

The figures released today, coincide with the Government's new dementia awareness campaign, aimed at educating people about the condition, and suggesting simple things that can help those living with the illness.

Ticketmaster Merger Referred To Watchdog
The merger between Ticketmaster and concert promoter Live Nation has been referred to the Competition Commission (CC). The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has referred the proposed tie-up after finding the merger could lessen competition and deny live music-goers the prospect of lower prices.

This years Mojo Honours list has been announced and voting has commenced. Welsh soul singer Duffy is shortlisted for Best Album and Best Breakthrough Act. Her upbeat anthem 'Mercy' is up for Song Of The Year. Mojo Honours List veterans Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have scored two nominations.
