Reality TV star in court on child cruelty charges
'Wife Swap' star Lizzy Bardsley has appeared in court charged with child cruelty.
The 33-year-old mother-of-eight from Hursthead Road in Rochdale was charged with three counts of wilful assault of a child and one count of wilful ill-treatment.
The charges relate to one child, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Ms Bardsley has denied the charges. She was released on bail.
The trial at Bolton Crown Court is due to begin on Wednesday.
Ms Bardsley became famous following her notorious appearance on 'Wife Swap', where two women swap lifestyles and look after each other's families while living in each other's houses.

The ringleader of a paedophile gang in Rochdale, who groomed young white girls for sex, has been named after being found guilty of 30 separate child rape charges. Shabir Ahmed, 59, led a child sex exploitation ring of nine men who targeted vulnerable young girls in the Rochdale and Oldham areas of Greater Manchester.
