Royal Editor jailed for four months
The Royal Editor of the 'News of the World' has been sentenced to four months in jail for plotting to intercept telephone messages from the Royal Household.
Clive Goodman, 49, from Putney, southwest London, apologised to Prince Charles and his sons Princes William and Harry during a hearing at the Old Bailey last month.
He pleaded guilty to plotting to intercept the telephone messages at the same hearing.
At the same hearing, private detective Glenn Mulcaire, 36, admitted the same charge, as well as five further charges of unlawfully intercepting voicemail messages for other celebrities, including supermodel Elle Macpherson and publicist Max Clifford.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment.

The 48-year-old journalist, from Putney, south-west London, was arrested following claims made by staff at the Prince of Wales' household that there had been security breaches of the telephone network.
