South Park Queen death scene courts controversy
Controversial US cartoon series 'South Park' has shown an episode which features the Queen committing suicide.
The show, which is now in its eleventh series, is renowned for its often controversial story lines which, in the past, have mocked such targets as the Prophet Mohammed, the Virgin Mary, actor Tom Cruise and Scientology.
The episode featuring the Queen is a parody of the successful US drama '24' which focuses on the Queen being behind a plot to re-conquer America.
When the plot fails, she is seen to shoot herself in the mouth with a gun.
Last year, 'South Park' attracted complaints after screening an episode which referenced the death of Australian TV star and naturalist Steve Irwin, just weeks following his death after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray.
